My students are 11-13 year olds who are motivated by using technology and enjoy being presented with new challenges. Many of my students come to my classroom thinking my elective classes will be an "easy A". Some of these are students who do not choose a foreign language as an elective because they do not want extra homework. However, they quickly learn that my class is not easy, is always challenging, and hard work is expected. Because students have the opportunity to be creative and to collaborate, they learn that challenges and hard work are actually a GOOD thing! Students are consistently amazed at what they are capable of, and are very proud of the projects they complete in class. My students are developing 21st century skills (creative thinking, critical thinking and collaboration) that they can take with them to high school, college and beyond! Additionally, they are learning how to use tools and software that can help them improve their performance in other classes.
