In 2012, Camden, New Jersey had the highest poverty rate of any city in America. That same year, only 3 students in Camden were deemed “college ready” after taking the SAT.

This year, Townsend Press, an educational publishing company located in Camden County, New Jersey, generously funded a civic engagement campaign in Camden. Thousands of Camden parents received DonorsChoose.org gift cards to support local teachers. Over 350 projects in Camden were fully funded thanks to the generosity of parents and donors.

It’s been two months since the campaign ended, and we are still struck by how many Camden teachers have incredible projects posted on DonorsChoose.org. We want to make sure that all teachers and students in this highest poverty school district get the classroom materials they deserve.Help us continue to support students and teachers in Camden schools. Donate to a Camden classroom today.
