DonorsChoose.org team wins AWS Hackathon!

Share:

Over 8,000 people gathered in Las Vegas, Nevada this week to attend the Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent Conference. AWS hosted it's first ever Hackathon where data enthusiasts were challenged to help solve the problems of 4 non-profits: United Way, NASA/ JPL, Cancer Research UK, and DonorsChoose.org. We challenged hackers to create an interface that would make our open data more accessible to researchers.Thirty-five teams went head-to-head in the Hackathon, and a team working on the DonorsChoose.org challenge won first place! We're thrilled to send a HUGE congratulations to Kevin Jungmeisteris, Rober Lee, Ikrom Hotamov, Ville Koskela on their big win. Listen to them describe their award-winning project in this video. Hack on, fellas!
