Students in the honors classes will be using the supplies to apply their understanding of concepts taught in physics by designing and creating action and reaction mechanisms similar to those of Rube Goldberg. By having these materials, students will have more meaningful enrichment opportunities. They will be asked to design a new product to be made at a manufacturing company. They will design a "super creation." The “super creation” will mimic a manufacturing production line and have multiple actions with corresponding reactions. The end product or final action of the “super creation” will be your proposal for a product the company can produce. They will be allowed as many action and reactions that are necessary to create their proposed end product. The resources requested, such as pulleys, rope, tubing, marbles are just a few options students will have to work with that will allow them to apply their knowledge of simple machines and forces and motion into action.
