Setting up the Kindle Fires in a center-like environment, students will be able to utilize them throughout the day. I have Science Curiosity Question cards that students can research answers, or students can propose their own questions to research. In addition, adding digital reading apps (like Epic!) would allow students to read high quality digital literature to reach the Common Core State Standards in nonfiction reading. Kindles offer a lot of flexibility with apps that can span all subject areas! Finally, the Echo Dot is a tool that could be utilized with the whole class by playing games, using timers, asking questions, etc. It is a 21st Century tool that many students have in their own homes.
