I have a clear memory being a fifth grader than thinking, "I am going to be a fifth grade teacher because I know how difficult being a fifth grader is!" I teach 50 fifth graders who live in a suburbia neighborhood. I work to design a classroom where students can learn and thrive. I reflect constantly on how I can improve the learning experience and connect with my students. I work to create a positive learning environment and interactive activities. I never tire of the challenge that teaching presents on a daily basis. I could do many other things in life. I choose teaching for the excitement of learning, the interaction with students, and the creativity it takes to charm students into learning concepts dictated by the state! :)
