My students are PK-5th grade. The whole school attends my class once a week for 60 minutes. Our school in a charter school in the economically distressed Michigan, where our school funding has been continually cut. My students come from various backgrounds, but most parents would not be able to afford music lessons on their own, so my music class is their only exposure to organized music. The students are very curious and naturally want to learn music in a more authentic way with actual materials.
