We are a Charter High School in Southwest Florida that likes to push the bounds of going outside the box. The Drone Academy project on DonorsChoose.org won a National Award from Think It Up last year! Our new Maker Space and Innovation Lab should be even more awesome as we fill it with 3-D printers, laser cutters, and the latest in cool technology tools! Students are asked to be creative, innovative, and very hands-on. Our Engineering students are encouraged to explore innovative ideas and techniques. Teaching technology involves being on the cutting edge, learning what exists, thinking about what can be changed, and creating what may be NEXT. Combining the two, while throwing in some artistic flair, helps our kids become leaders in the STEM/STEAM endeavor. They are getting a very unique opportunity to take their projects from idea, to creation, to market; learning how innovation turns into entrepreneurship.
