I assign those as part of our Writing Across the Curriculum program, and I am always surprised at how many of them need instruction on the basics of letter-writing. So the process actually helps them, too, since thank-you notes are helpful after job interviews, etc. We are glad you have such a generous employer who will benefit our students even further with this generous gift."
