Teacher: Ms. Wilson

My first graders live in one of the lowest socioeconomic neighborhoods in our city. Spanish is their home language. My students, while retaining their home language, actively work hard to acquire English. This group of students have very dedicated parents that want the best education possible for their children. They are very involved in their academic and social development and often come to the classroom to see what they can do to help. My students enjoy learning. They love to read and are quite good at it! I try to give them as many reading opportunities as I can. That's why I'm asking for a reading library with tapes. The listening library gives them independent time to enjoy a book quietly. Our school's main focus is increasing our academic scores but it is still important that students have time to play and learn organized games. My request for a set of balls will allow us to play games that need balls during our P.E. time. Thank you for your help.
