Many of my students think they don't like to read, but I know they just haven't read the right book yet. My Baltimore City 6th graders are an energetic, fun loving group of students. At the same time, many of them read well below grade level. In order to accelerate them to grade level standards in reading, we need to be immersed in engaging texts that are challenging, but still accessible.
