I teach in one of the lowest income elementary school in our district. These students may be socioeconomically disadvantaged but they are hardworking students that helped our school earn the Highest Progress State Recognition Award, an award given to the top 10% of Title I schools statewide based on having "all students" academically progress. They also love music, and I do, too! I want to expose them to the most music making possible, and hopefully instill in them a lifelong passion for music. However, our school and district has not had a budget for music for over fifteen years. After being played by over 450 elementary students each week, our minimal supply of instruments are in need of repair or broken beyond use. Without help from donors like you, we would not be able to get the instruments my students need to grow musically.
