The sister schools in our area already expect my babies to fail. We are located in a very poor part of North Carolina where there is not a lot of external stimuli around. Our school is the lowest performing school in the county, with 60% of our students needing free and reduced lunch. I will have two classes this year with around 20 incredible students in each block! I have been told that my upcoming students will be some of the lowest performing students in the third grade. I was hired to help start that light in their hearts that will make them LOVE to read and write again! These students are our future and I intend on preparing them to be the achieving scholars I know in my heart that they will be!
