Our elementary public school is high achieving and forward thinking.

We have a strong commitment to preparing our students for the technology rich world of today and tomorrow. As their art teacher, I'm always looking for ways to stimulate creative problem-solving give my students technology rich ways to express themselves. What can be better for this purpose than a digital storytelling studio with enough cameras to give all my students an opportunity to participate in this 21st century medium for visual literacy.

My Project

My program was recognized with a national innovation award last year for the engaging technology rich instruction and art production available to my students. My students need one last digital camera to complete our Stop-Motion animation stations so everyone will get a chance to tell their stories. I want to continue to grow our high quality program with this camera to complete our digital storytelling stop-motion animation stations. This will give our students more access to a hands on video or animation experience that will encourage teamwork, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.

A digital storytelling studio will give students a chance to showcase their learning, celebrate their discoveries and instruct others with their knowledge.

They can demonstrate their learning to authentic audiences and practice digital citizenship as they share their finished work on a potentially global stage. Don't we all need a digital storytelling studio?
