The 400 students in my Title I, PK-5 urban elementary school in Oklahoma, love the library, but few have their own books at home, not to mention a current student dictionary on their level. Giving access to age-appropriate reference and reading materials is one of my jobs as library media specialist. Our kids deserve to have dictionaries that are appropriate to their age and reading level. Frustration levels rise when the dictionaries they use in our library are too big and advanced, or too easy and don't include the words students need to look up for their assignments.
