Without Paper And Pencils Classroom Is Challenging
My students need basic supplies like paper and pencils. I have provided many of them pencils out of my own supply, but after using 1000 plus pencils and several boxes of paper, we need supplies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Not being able to have a pencil to lend a student is tough. However, I cannot continue to purchase pencils and paper. Students need to have pencils and paper to do their work, but with budget cuts we have been told to limit our use.
I have good kids, but they are financially challenged.
They cannot always afford to purchase some of the basic necessities for school. Many will not admit they cannot afford to purchase pens, pencils, and paper. Instead they will act as if they don't care. They do care. Many will come up to me asking to borrow a pencil and then ask if they can take it with them because they don't have one. I need to be able to provide for them without worrying about my supply running short or how much it is going to cost to replace the items I have given away. We need pencils and paper.
My Project
Without paper and pencils it is really difficult to determine what a child has learned. Attempting to give quizzes or tests, trying to get students to take Cornell Notes, giving them copies of maps to do (Geography Class), or even to copy off articles for them to read is something that becomes a process in which we must determine if the paper we will use is not only available, but if it is absolutely necessary to use it. We have to cut back on the amount of material we give our students above and beyond the book, even though research shows that providing additional reading and materials that relates the lesson to real life for the students allows them to connect better with it.
Students shouldn't have to be concerned with budget cuts.
Teachers shouldn't have to look at lessons as if it is an economical feasibility test. Many teachers have to determine if they have the supplies available for a lesson. By helping me get these items, you will be helping me not to have to determine if the lessons are economically feasible. They will allow me to just be a teacher, to impact my students by allowing them to have the materials necessary to further their learning process.
