WCES is educating it's students on the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables. The students will be growing their own fruits and vegetables in the Wildcat Garden. We are planning on producing strawberries, tomatoes, green beans, black berries, and blueberries.
The students at WCES range in grades from kindergarten through fifth.
We are projecting on having about 825 students at the school this year, so we are hoping our garden supply list will be filled. The students are very excited about planting their own fruits and vegetables.
My Project
The seeds we are purchasing will be used to grow a portion of our garden. We also have fruit trees and other vegetables that are in need of fertilizer. The weed guard will be placed around the trees and plants to keep the weeds from growing into the fruits and vegetables.
WCES is the only elementary school in our county to earn the Silver National Award from The Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
We have a student fitness lab with 27 different exercise stations for our students to utilize throughout the day. We continue to make healthy changes and activities for our students to enjoy in the hopes that they will continue living a healthy lifestyle. Help us secure the items we need for the garden!
