With an Apple MacBook Pro, I could unite them.
Our Pre K-5th grade school is one of the elementary schools in our area.
We have almost 550 students here! I currently work with the Pre K through 3rd grade students with weekly music classes. I also teach tonet lessons to our fourth graders and, in 5th grade, I teach elementary band. I am fortunate to work in a school that strives for technology resources in our classroom. .
My Project
Music and technology in the world today are without a doubt intertwined. It has been that way since music was produced electronically. However, since the birth of computers and internet, the union of the two has definitely solidified and entered unchartered territory. As an elementary band and music teacher, I would love to strategically incorporate a Macbook computer and sites to stream music. As a teacher, I know I am now ready to offer productive, technology-rich music lessons for my students.I would love to have one to use with my eager students. With software for the MacBook Pro and online music sites, I could use this laptop in a center for my music students. I know I could offer powerful music lessons with it. With the younger ones, I plan to use online interactives for rhythm, notes, etc. Also, I would use piano links. For the older ones, I would use those too, but I would offer simple music writing activities & websites for learning more about music notes and reading music.
As a music teacher, I love Bono's words, "Music can change the world because it can change people." As a teacher in need of a MacBook Pro laptop.
I feel I could unite music and technology in ways these students have not experienced before. I see the powerful connection between technology and musical lessons that intrigue students. Music & and technology in the world today are without a doubt, a powerful duo! I believe, Hans Christian Anderson's words, "Where Words Fail, Music Speaks."
