My Students

Do you remember when you were small and you sat on the carpet in front of your teacher? She would read you a story or teach you something exciting while you were sitting crossed-legged on a comfortable carpet? I bet you remember the feeling of being close to your teacher and classmates!

My beautiful students are very curious and active learners.

They come to school eager to learn each day, despite the challenges that they face at home. Many of my students live below the poverty level and struggle with many issues. Sometimes the only consistency they have is when they are with me for 7 hours per day.

My Project

We move around the room quite often during instructional time to keep focused and on-task. Sometimes this requires sitting in a small group on the floor. Unfortunately, we have no rug to sit upon! Our school was built in the 1940s and the floors are old and a bit hard to sit on. With your kind donation, my students will be able to sit comfortably while learning on a bright and colorful world rug. I hope the world map will also help them learn their geography, as well!
