My Students
Maintaining the motivation needed to be successful while facing the many challenges of life can be very difficult for today's students. Through incentives and rewards, I hope to maintain my students' motivation throughout the entire school year.
My students are from many different ethnic backgrounds including African-American, Caucasian, Hispanic, and Asian. Their academic abilities range from special needs to gifted. Many of my students fall into the low economic status category and are faced with unthinkable day-to-day challenges that affect their school lives.
My Project
When my students' days begin on the "wrong" foot, it can be extremely difficult to not only obtain their motivation but also keep it for the rest of the day. With the supplies and resources I have chosen, I will be able to help increase my students' will to do their best both academically and behaviorally. Incentive charts allow students to watch their progress as they work toward a self-chosen reward. Students will also learn to self-monitor their behavior with these charts. I have also chosen several awards to be given for academic efforts and achievements.
My students need these incentive charts, stickers for the charts, rewards such as games, and awards to celebrate their successes.
We can all lack motivation at some point in our day, week, or even year. However, when we see the success in our efforts, our motivation magically reappears. I want to provide the opportunity for my students to see their successes and be rewarded for their efforts.
