Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." - Dr. Seuss
Help us learn math through reading fun books!!!! We love to read, because it takes us places where we have never been before!
My students are awesome, hard working, English second language learners, and many live below the poverty line.
Books are the only escape that they have. Through books they travel to far places, learn about new things, and become familiar with the unknown.
My Project
These books will change how my students learn and help them make connections to the real world. The books will reinforce the skills that they have learned in class and of course help them retain the information through fun literature. Literature helps enrich their vocabulary, language skills, and their imaginations.
I am developing problem solvers and 21st century learners through teaching math and reading skills at the same time.
With these books they will learn to use language to focus and work through problems, to communicate ideas, make connections with their own learning and the text, and extend their thinking and experiences making them better problem solvers.
