Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have been robbed of an education! After a three day weekend, we entered the class only to learn that we had been robbed. All of our essential materials were gone, including our technology.

Our students are situated in an inner-city community where simple materials such as notebooks and pencils are sometimes considered a burden on families.

We are in a Title 1 school where the majority of the student population is 99% Hispanic. Learning is the main focus of our students, they are eager to learn about new concepts and new ideas to integrate into their everyday lives.

My Project

Education has changed over the years. In recent times, we have increased the use of technology in the classroom to keep up with the demanding needs of the students to learn. Because of the lack of funds to provide constant transportation to educational field trips, it is imperative that the teacher find alternate methods of bringing those field trips to the classroom. With the use of an LCD projector, we can experience on-line field trips to endless means, share new technology with videos and Internet research and facilitate teaching strategies with those students who need additional visual support.

Since the time of our missing technology in the classroom, it has become a challenge to enrich students lives with the education they crave.

Gaining back our stolen LCD projector, will ensure that we continue to learn at the ultimate potential that the students could unlock and turn into skills that they will use later on in life.
