"How do I make an E?" Learning to form letters correctly is something all students need to learn, and a standard that we teach and review for several years as students enter school.
Our school has almost 700 students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade.
We are proud to say our school does very well meeting the state testing expectations overall. Since we do, we are not eligible for extra/additional funding that lower-performing schools have at their discretion. We have a need at our school for a die cut machine with a set of 4-inch letters. This machine will accommodate over 30 teachers and support staff members, along with benefiting almost 700 deserving kids.
My Project
Teachers can use the machine for so many different lesson possibilities across the grade levels, in addition to labeling areas inside the classrooms for better organization and understanding by our students.
The primary and Kindergarten teachers can use the letter cutouts to teach the alphabet, while the middle school teachers can demonstrate professional-looking presentations or research and writing assignments for their children. One of the first projects our teachers will undertake is to create hands-on activities for groups of small children to use while the teacher works on instructing students one-on-one. These activities include making words from a group of letters or practicing the spelling of sight words. Then, the children can take home bags of letters to extend the lesson as practice homework. The level of understanding becomes concrete in the children's minds when they can manipulate materials instead of just reading it from a page.
Rarely can your donation benefit so many.
By contributing to this project, you can change the way students complete projects or assignments, and the way teachers display work in their classrooms. This is a gift that will last more than a decade and make lasting impressions in all who use it daily!
