Every child can learn just not in the same way or on the same day- George Evans. A typical day in our classroom will show students learning at multiple different stations and receiving lessons in a variety of ways.
Most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background.
More than 58% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches. My students are fourth grade students with learning disabilities and many have multiple diagnoses. They range from learning levels of first to fourth and require multiple different levels of learning material.
My Project
The students will be able to work independently, in small groups and in pairs. They will be able to quiz each other and help each other with assignments because most of the material include self help or self checking material guides and pictures. Included in this set of material is quick pick language study cards, workbooks that have small reading sections and quizzes that go along with each passage. Students love playing bingo and with the bingo kits they will have 4 different types of games to play. Students will be able to bingo play games and learn about reading comprehension, sight words, and context clues.
By having and using the requested material my students will be able to practice using prefixes, suffixes, and root words.
They will also learn how to correctly build sentences with the correct punctuation. They will have magnetic words and also word tiles. With both sets they will be able to build 200 plus words. By the students being able to use the colored reading guides they will be able to keep up in class and use them when they are reading during independent reading time
