My students need an iPad to incorporate technology in our classroom. We use iPads for lots of our center and station work. Please help us become tech savvy!
IPads, iPads, iPads! Why does every teacher seem to be asking for an iPad? Teachers ask for iPads, because the students are very motivated by them, and the possibilities for integrating iPads in the classroom are endless.
Our students come from different backgrounds.
Our student population is very diverse. We have students who struggle to find food for the day, while we have some who are very blessed to have anything they want. We have students who come from military families, and who have even used an iPhone to FaceTime their dad, on Father's Day, at school! We have single family homes. We have grandparents raising their grandchildren. We realize every home situation is different! I like to make sure that all my students feel welcome and loved when they are in my classroom no matter where they come from. I want my students to feel that no matter where they come from, we are all the same, when they get to my classroom. Our school is also a very supportive school. Teachers support each other, and our number one goal is making sure each student succeeds and feels loved. We make sure that, during every day we have the students, they go home with excitement and the motivation to go to school.
My Project
The iPad is an amazing tool in the classroom. The number of educational apps is increasing every day. I will use the iPad in the classroom, in order to incorporate technology in lessons. The iPad would be helpful for students to work in groups, as a learning device. Students will be able to use the iPad to practice skills, research science and social studies topics, and to read ebooks alone, or with a partner. My desire is to have an iPad available, to put into the hands of ALL my students. I am trying to, slowly, get resources to accomplish this goal! With this iPad, they could listen to stories and practice penmanship with letters and numbers. My students can record reader's theaters, sing songs, play educational games, and the list goes on and on. I hope all of my 2nd-grade students will spend a portion of their school day enjoying and learning on the iPad. This generation of children need this educational support, in order to learn in the best way possible.
This project will improve my classroom, because it will create more learning, while students are having fun.
Students will be able to share more ideas, as they learn from apps that involve new concepts. Not only are they learning new math, reading, social studies, and science concepts. They are also learning the use of new technology. Please help our class have the best, and to become tech savvy!
