My Students

Do you have a website that you like to visit daily to learn something new or be inspired? In our second grade classroom, that website is BrainPop Jr.

We live in a predominately Amish/Mennonite community.

The majority of our students speak more than one language at home and work very diligently at school. We live in a rural area where most families enjoy living simple lives and spending time outside.

My Project

Many people have access to technology and the Internet at home. In our school district, many families choose not to have a computer or internet in their home. Therefore, our computer time and our Online resources are not taken for granted while students are in school. In our second grade classroom, students love visiting a website called BrainPop Jr. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, our subscription to that website has expired and will not be renewed. I want to continue to give that resource to my students so they may continue to learn and be inspired by over 258 short video clips, games, quizzes, activities, and more. As a teacher, I really appreciate the way BrainPop Jr. introduces challenging topics in an age appropriate way. I am also thankful for the growing number of resources that are provided for teachers to keep up with changing standards and constant assessment.

I know that BrainPop Jr.

is a safe and effective classroom tool because I have enjoyed privileges of using the resource for over 5 years. Help me continue to provide this safe, effective, engaging online tool for my students. Thank you!
