We Need A Document Camera!

My students need a document camera that will make it easy for us to share work, do assignments together, and read books together.

My Students

My class has a "call and response" that we do at least once a day. I say "word hard" and my kids shout "GET SMART - whoot whoot!" We even have hand motions.

I am lucky to be at a fabulous school with a great administration and staff.

My students come from middle-class, working families. Most of them have the support at home that help them to be successful. My students are the most loving, curious, clever kiddos I have ever met! My students are fired up about learning, and I believe that they deserve the best.

My Project

We would really benefit from having a document camera. When students work hard on an assignment, they deserve to be able to show off their hard work. When I am reading a book aloud or we are doing a book/novel study, students should be able to read along with me as a book is projected with a document camera rather than having to just listen (and maybe squint to see the pictures). I would like to be able to teach a whole group lesson using manipulatives or pictures that everyone can easily see. Having a document camera will make it easier for me to explain assignments and new concepts by giving students a large visual example, making the students feel safer, smarter, and more at ease in my classroom. Lastly, a document camera will make it much easier for us to check and review completed work. Right now, we have to go over completed assignments orally which does absolutely no good for some students. With a document camera, I can involve more students.

I am confident that a document camera will have a positive impact on my students' learning, growth, and overall success.

My students deserve the best, and I know that having a document camera will give them the extra opportunities that they may need.
