My Students

Diana Oblinger's quote states, "There are a lot of positive uses to the technology in the classroom. The ultimate objective is to find the right path to encourage learning." This applies to all learning journeys. With 4 Osmos, our group will take our 1st step on this learning path if you help us.

I am a teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school.

We are a tight community that works together. Our parental support is so amazing! Our local school has about 550 students. Teaching is something I truly enjoy. I love working with my adorable 1st grade students. Our teachers and students are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms daily. Our first grade team is interested in using Osmos with our new Ipads gained this year through Donorschoose.org. Our team of four first grade teachers would love to utilize this new resource with our students next year. However, we need to learn first how to use them. Our initial step would be learning how the Osmos work. In a nutshell, we know that in learning more about Osmo interactive resources as a student, we can then strengthen our educator roles. As teachers, we can eventually create activities for reading, art, math & other subjects. We feel eventually students can be involved in the process of creating activities with this innovative tool.

My Project

Our 1st grade team wants to learn about Osmo for creative and collaborative lessons. Our group plan Professional Development includes working with our tech leader in a small group setting. The lesson plan for our personal learning journey includes meeting for 3 sessions to understand this new tool. In speaking with our tech leader, she recommended tutorials that would guide our learning path. With the use of the requested set of Osmos in this grant, our mentor will guide the 4 of us with our personal learning path. Our plan for this lies with striving for 2 goals: Learning to use Osmo with our group of teachers as students & then implementing it for creative & collaborative lessons with our students. The 4 Osmos in this proposal would be used for our 1st grade team to learn about them during professional development. They would be used in centers with collaborative group settings, in pairs or individually.

"There are a lot of positive uses to the technology in the classroom.

The objective is to find the right path for students and learning." Our team agrees with that. With this plan of action, we know we will learn awesome ways to implement Osmos and creative and collaborative lessons in the classroom. This applies to all learning journeys, as well. Believe me, we ready to take on this journey with your funding. Will you help our 1st grade team players become students again?
