My students need 4 Samsung Galaxy tablets to experience the interactive abilities designed in science applications to engage students in the learning process.
I have wonderful students that are very limited in their experience with technology. Utilizing the four Samsung Galaxy tablets I have requested will enable my students to experience interactive learning websites and gain key skills working with technology.
My students are typical freshmen, experiencing high school for the first time and trying to find their niche in life.
My classroom is a positive environment allowing students to express themselves and not feel threatened.
I welcome diversity and teach to the multiple learning styles of my students. Many students do not own computers or iPads, and are limited in their skills involving technology.
Utilizing the Samsung Galaxy tablets in my classroom would facilitate my methods of instruction and capture the students attention. In my heart, I know my students will appreciate the ability to learn science in this progressive 21st century world.
My Project
Physical science is comprised of both chemistry and physics skills, and can be a difficult subject for freshmen students to master. If this project is funded, I plan to incorporate the Galaxy tablets into my instruction and guided practice.
Due to limited equipment and materials, the Galaxy tablets will offer an innovative method for students to experience animations or science labs. It will expose freshman to the scientific inquiry process, discovery and application - a skill based off of LEAP and ACT where our students are currently deficient.
One such way will be having students experiment using virtual representations for motion and speed. Students will use applications of the Galaxy to create simiulations, and use the scientific process to form and test a hypothesis.
My vision is to prepare all students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
In my world, I can influence and guide students through the science discipline.
I am and will continue to challenge my students in science and prepare them for college or careers. This project has the potential to unlock knowledge and motivate students to achieve in a difficult subject. The Galaxy pad can be the spark to build dreams and inspire our next scientist.
