My students need entrance to Sea World where they will be able to see marine and aquatic resources first-hand and gain an appreciation for our natural resources.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Children love new experience! I want to be able to instill the love of nature in each of them and help them to understand that they play a vital role in the conservation of our natural resources.
First-hand interactions change lives!
When children are able to interact with their environment, they walk away with a profound experience that changes them.
Our kids are from low income families. Our school is a Title I school with 90% to 95% of our students on free or reduced price lunch options. Many families cannot afford extras for their children. Sending them out of county to have new experiences is hard because the expense is too great.
My Project
My students need funding for the entrance fees to Sea World. Students will use this opportunity to encounter marine and aquatic resources and develop a lifelong appreciation, understanding, and stewardship for nature. They will learn an immense respect for our natural resources in a safe, fun environment.
Personal tours and encounters with various ocean creatures will enable them to see a variety of wildlife while learning about the need to protect them.
My students will be able to get first-hand experience with marine life.
Many have not been able to experience this. Their knowledge base will grow tremendously as they realize how closely linked they are to the natural world. It is exciting just thinking about the positive effect this will have on their lives.
