Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Quirky, outgoing, talkative, funny, silly, smart, amazing... just a few words to describe the group of kids in my classroom and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am exhausted at the end of the days, simply because they push me to really be the best teacher I can be.

I am very fortunate to work in a district that has found a way to supply a community of 90% free and reduced lunch, with 1:1 iPads for different grade levels.

My classroom is very diverse in skill and needs. I'm a co-taught classroom with students with IEP's, students without, as well as ESL students. Being a co-taught classroom, I strive to provide the same opportunity for all students to access and learn the same information and standards at a level that best suits their needs.

My Project

My students need six wireless keyboards to use with iPads to assist in writing and typing tasks. The problem we sometimes do run into is students have trouble with their visual/special and typing on the keyboard that is on the iPad. This will help students create and produce activities, writing pieces, and complete tasks on their iPads more efficiently and effectively. I feel that by providing students with access to a wireless keyboard when performing typing tasks on their iPad it will help them finish them more efficiently and effectively, and it is also preparing them for the future.

Technology is a huge part of today and the future, and we as educators need to help prepare these students for their future.

I believe that by exposing them to using keyboards at this point in time, it will start to create a strong base for them as they move through the grades. Having a group set of wireless keyboards will most definitely provide students with skills that will help them move forward and succeed.
