Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Think of how engaged and willing to learn my students would be if they could practice their skills on a tablet!
My school is located in Louisiana in a high poverty area.
It is a public school where almost all the students are receiving free or reduced lunch. The children I teach are the most appreciative young people that I have ever met. They are not privileged at all, so they truly appreciate the resources and experiences I provide for them. For this reason, I want to make learning as fun and engaging as possible. I want school to be a positive experience for them and I want it to encourage them to be lifelong lovers of learning.
My Project
With this tablet and keyboard in my classroom, I can make the most of every moment my students and I have together. I can use this tablet to enrich our learning environment. Once we have mastered a skill, we can play a game that will reinforce that learning. Also, in my small group I can truly have active participation. We can work together and actually have a visual for what we are looking at. I feel that with this tablet, my students can become more successful. I am also hoping that it will inspire them to pull away from video games and focus more on educational learning games. I want them to know that these can be as fun as those games they love so much.
