My students need young adult titles (graphic novels, award winners, and new releases) and a display cube to give them access to books in a student-friendly seating area.

Our students are high achievers, but they need your help to get the resources our school needs in order to challenge, inspire, and motivate them to reach their fullest potential.
Many of our students come from our rapidly growing suburban community, but we are also proud of the fact that we have students from every other high school zone in our district. We also serve as an ELL center and host a program for students with moderate, severe, and profound disabilities.
My Project
I am requesting a display cube and new books for our library. The display cube will give our students access to reading material in our student seating area and will make the area more welcoming and student-friendly. We will use the cube to create interesting book displays that will motivate students to read. We are also requesting new young adult titles for our library including graphic novels, award winners, new releases, and student requests. Graphic novels have been shown to motivate reluctant readers to read and are also great for use with English learners. We have requested three titles that won 2013 Printz and Printz honor awards (for young adult literature) as well as several new releases and student requests that will bring students to the library. We want to provide our students with an engaging library environment and resources that motivate our students to be lifelong learners and readers. Your help is needed and appreciated!
