Bill Gates stated, "Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important." With that said, please know that I am a teacher who loves using technology in my classroom. I know having a new computer would benefit my students.
Our class is a new section at my new school.
I am currently a new Pre K teacher at an elementary school. The community where I teach is known to be a tight knit community with great parental support. My school has more than 500 students from Pre K through fifth grade. I am new to this school, but from what I have observed, I see technology is a priority to them. My students are energetic, lovable and eager to learn. Our school focuses on technology integration with the students daily. I am fortunate to work in a school that strives for technology resources in our classroom.
My Project
Since we live in a technological world I enjoy providing technology rich lessons to my students. A new computer would allow me to provide this for my students since my current computer is outdated. With the new upgrades for XP computers in 2014, it slowed down our computers. Our classroom computers are definitely old and we truly need to start working on faster and more efficient computers for my students. As a teacher, I know the importance of focusing on different student levels. I have no doubt, that the use of a new faster computer could be more productive with independent centers to increase reading and math skills levels. Our current XP's have served us well through the years, but an upgrade is needed. With a Windows 8 or 10, it would alleviate me having to stop lessons to assist with frozen computers and such. My students use our computers daily in centers. Even as Pre K students, they learn so quickly with computers. I know my little ones could benefit from a new computer.
With a technology goal on the horizon & hope of new equipment, I plan to continue moving forward for my students to have a productive 21st-century environment.
Bill Gates stated, "Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important." I am that teacher! With help, I know I can motivate my students! Pre K classrooms have changed so much over the years. We now need "Teckie Tyke Tools" to enhance lessons. Can you help us?
