My students need 5 Kindle Fires to bring technology into a classroom in desperate need to enhance ELA learning.

My Students

Technology is the new day and age textbook and my students are missing out!

My students are from a very low income neighborhood.

They attend my school to be given the chance to achieve their dreams. They have longer school days and have a longer school year. The school is often their own place of stability. Many of them live below the poverty line and are in need of a place to keep them safe and teach them.

My Project

I am in need of these materials because I want to enhance my tutoring groups and my students daily ELA lessons. Our school has a program which can come with a digital aspect allowing scholars to interactively read a long, play games and write all using an online program, however I have no computers (not even a student laptop) to allow students to do this. I would love to have five Kindle Fires so I can work with a group of students and allow them to digitally connect and interact with them using the technology. This technology will also allow for our program, which is common core aligned, to really effect the urban district scores and show everyone these children deserve a chance as well

My project is so important because these students are already put at the bottom and are most often not given the chance to show what they can do!

With this technology, my students will be on the same level as many of the other who attend suburban schools with more funding and more support.
