North Middle School students Traeveon, Paola, Caleb, Noah, and Mary are excited to help provide leadership for our Video Production class. These students represent both 7th and 8th graders who are proud of the work they are trying to accomplish.
These students developed this idea after asking if there was any way we could get more cameras in the classroom in order for more students to have access to the equipment. As the teacher, I informed them of DonorsChoose and they took it from there. They created a plan to spread awareness for our needs.
Students will learn many skills that will help them in their college and professional careers. They are learning how to create an effective advertising plan with persuasive writing in order to convince people to fund our project. The students will also learn how real-life problem-solving by finding a way to fund materials for a project when the funds are not available through normal means.
In Their Own Words
"We're trying to gather enough money to purchase two video cameras for our video production class. Two more cameras allow us to get more students involved in our work. Also, the cameras will allow us to produce more work at a higher quality." -Caleb
"Many kids want this class so we need more cameras, that way there is enough equipment for the students to use."
-Traeveon
"Having more cameras will help teach us how to use them for the future." -Mary
"We will hang up poster and have a stand in front of the school for donations." -Noah
"What I will do to make this happen is pass out flyer's so more people know and help our class." -Paola
"This project is important to me and my school community because we are low on cameras and we need more because of how big our classes are. We also need them so every student can participate in our video production class at North Middle School." -Traeveon
