Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello Everyone!!! Thank you for visiting my project page!! I am an elementary technology teacher in Trenton, NJ!! We have basic desktops in my classroom but I would really love to introduce my older students to photography. Experiencing technology indoors and outdoors through creative means.
I teach technology education to students in grades K through 5 - in a typical month I will see over 400 students and that's only half the school.
As I mentioned before, we are located in Trenton, NJ which is an Abbott district. The students are good kids but need more exposure to different types of technology.
My Project
I hope to have the students use the 25 digital cameras as a method of teaching them how to use technology not just by sitting at a computer or on a tablet. Getting the students up, active, and hopefully outdoors to be creative and take pictures is the goal. Framing the perfect photo and then bringing it back into the classroom for editing would bring the entire idea full circle. I would like for them to think visually and artistically through project-based learning with the cameras.
I hope this project will improve my classroom by giving my students a chance to experience a real camera...something most of them have never used.
This experience will open their eyes and minds to new ways of thinking. I hope to introduce them to basic photography and photo editing...hopefully impacting their early education and interest in the field of technology.
