I have two wonderful groups of sixth graders.
I teach Math and Science for sixth grade. As well, I teach and coach PE to both sixth grade classes who are on two teams for sports (Team A and Team B). I am fortunate to be part of a Title 1 School that strives for excellence. We meet student needs in rigorous teaching strategies and expect only the best from our students.
My Project
My two classes are separated into two teams for sports. Before going out to participate in the team sports, they are asked to go on their iPads and research appropriate exercises to share, teach, and coach their two teams. Specifically, students are researching for warm-up routines to do and lead with their teams before beginning the exercises. I am requesting a wireless printer so they can print the exercises from their iPads, to take out with them to lead and coach the team sports for the day.
Our students are blessed with a class set of iPads that allows them to experience an integratation of technology with sports.
