My Students

By the end of the school year, I want my kids to be reading on grade level and not struggling with as many word meanings going into sixth grade. My biggest challenge getting them there is having the right resources.

This is my first full year being a teacher.

It is still summer, but I know in August, for the first time, I will be greeted with 28 hardworking, ready to learn 5th graders. My school is a Title I school. This will be the second year using the English Language Arts Common Core. Some students aren't as fortunate to have technology at home. Students can learn a great deal from interaction with technology. Having iPads at school will allow them this extraordinary interaction and a hands-on learning environment.

My Project

Do you have an iPad? I don't personally have one, but I do know of many instructional apps that can be used during my small group reading time and my whole group reading time. My students need this interaction with modern day technology. Textbooks are great for learning, but with iPads, my students can experience hands-on learning. They can learn and have fun at the same time. I have been researching many ways to use iPads efficiently in my classroom.

My students and myself will greatly appreciate any donation to our project.

This is my very first year as a teacher and my very first project. I can assure you that the iPads will be a huge asset to my classroom! We really appreciate you!
