Leo Buscaglia stated,“ Change is the end result of all true learning.” Accepting change in education is crucial it indeed breeds learning. This project would have me as the student learner, not the teacher. Touchscreen laptops are a change that helps Special Education students.
I am currently a special education teacher at an elementary school with more than 500 students from Pre-K through 5th grade.
Currently, I am working with 13 students in several grade levels in classroom settings and in my own classroom. I love my students and bringing out the best in them.
My Project
In my line of work as a special education teacher, I am always working to enrich lessons for my students. My students love technology tools and resources. A touch screen laptop and mouse in my classroom would allow all the students under my wing to experience the interactivity and tactile skills often needed with SPED students. I could use it in small groups and individually, as well as in whole groups when they are connected to my projector. Having this tool would truly help us out. One teacher in my school has one and the students are truly intrigued with the touchscreen laptop. I see the positive effects of using it with children who relate to tactile skills. It would help with reading and math interactives that are online. Please consider helping my Special Education students with this device.
Leo Buscaglia stated, “Change is the end result of all true learning.” Together, you and I have an opportunity to help my students experience something new, positive and productive.
It is time for a change. With this touchscreen laptop, it would offer my students an additional resource in terms of tactile skills. Now, would you consider funding this technology journey for me?
