My Kindergarten students are bright, enthusiastic, and excited to learn!
We have a class of 28 students and there is always lots to do every day. We have a very diverse classroom, socio-economically, and many of our children come from low-income households.
My Project
Our classroom has large windows and a back door that leads out to a grassy, enclosed courtyard. I have always wanted to teach the students outdoors on nice days, but our learning has been restricted to working on blankets. Blankets are great for story time and independent reading, but the picnic tables we are requesting would allow for a much needed work surface area. Students would be able to write, paint, and use manipulatives outdoors. With your help, we can do a whole lesson outside, or students could work in centers rotating between activities!
