Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Get our students engaged in their learning! As students' attention spans become shorter and shorter, it has become more important to create engaging and fun lessons for the students to learn! Having hands-on games and manipulatives will keep the students excited about their learning!
My students come from a rural migrant farm town in California.
This is a Title 1 school where more than 80% of the students are Spanish speaking. I am blessed to be able to teach and mentor these children and want to give back to them as much as I can. Many of the students come from broken family lives and have little to engage them in their learning. I would love to be able to create a learning atmosphere that is exciting, engaging, and have all the students participating!
My Project
The resources I am requesting will add so much to my class. Here is why...
The magnifying glasses are a fun and great way to get students to "take a closer look" to the material in front of them. It would be more exciting for students to use the magnifying glass when looking for key vocabulary words or context clues in a piece of literature we are reading.
The fraction kit and the multiplication dot game would be used in my math centers. I love having students engage in the learning in multiple ways. By having different games/activities, the students are able to access the information in ways that make sense to them. Not only are these resources great for hands-on students, but they won't even realize how much they are learning while playing a game!
Lastly, I would love to receive the student informational organizer for my class so that the students have their own place to keep their important information and a great way for me to keep them organized!
