My students need 5 IPad mini's, protective covers and cases.

Every morning we start the day by singing along to Will.i.am's Sesame Streets song "What I Am". We call this our "pump it up jam." Much like athletes have a song to get them ready to give their very best, we also must give our best in all we do.
I always say that you would not build the Statue of Liberty on quick sand.
My students are building the foundation for which they will build their education and their future. Thanks to Common Core and other pushes in education right now, my kindergarten students are expected to know and do so much more than ever before. In our school all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch everyday. We have had two food and supplies drives for our families to come and pick up essential goods. We, as a staff and a community, want to give our students the skills and tools for success.
We will use the mini I-Pads in our classrooms for a variety of purposes. First and foremost, we will use them to work in small groups for reading instruction and intervention. We will use them to learn and reinforce letter names and sounds, CVC blending, rhyming words and sight word recognition. The I-Pads will also be used to take our monthly reading assessment that is computer based. My students will become familiar with using technology to make their learning fun and engaging.
This project will allow me to better differentiate my instruction for my students.
It will allow my kindergarten students to explore the Internet and the world outside of our classroom. It will also allow my students to become familiar with technology, which is sure play a greater role in their educational future.
