Mrs. Flowers from Mobile AL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need six Kindle Fire tablets with keyboards so that they can research and easily write paragraphs without the need for a full computer.

Every day we begin with a bell ringer which recaps the important objectives of the previous day(s). We are a MS Office 365 school, and their daily bell ringers could be done digitally with the right tools.
My students are typical teens.
They love their cell phones beyond anything else in this world. I encourage them to use their personal devices for class but sometimes what they bring is not enough for the job at hand. I like to offer supplemental devices when possible, and using an external keyboard makes these devices almost like having a computer to loan. Because they still see these as toys, they are far more likely to do their assignments this way than with paper and pen.
My students need six Kindle Fire tablets with keyboards so that they can research and easily write paragraphs without the need for a full computer. As a world language classroom, I like to have my students view cultures outside of the country and outside of their experience and comfort zone. While taking notes on index cards is easy enough to do when researching on a cell phone, writing the draft or final paper is much easier with a keyboard and (for most), a larger screen.
Students are comfortable using the technology they use on a daily basis - their cell phones and tablets.
Often these devices are lost or stolen or taken by a parent as punishment. That makes it difficult to do class projects that depend on those devices. My eventual goal is a full classroom set of tablets and keyboards so that we can go completely paperless. As we move to a more digitally connected world, students need to have the skills to complete online activities.
