Do you ever remember a time when you could not see what the teacher was pointing to or explaining on a paper? Maybe you could not see the manipulatives your teacher was holding. This is the case for many of my students this year.
This is a transition year for the school I am teaching at.
While the school is being rebuilt from the horrific tornado that swept our town last year, we are located in a local church who graciously offered their buildings to us. I have a large group of 44 second graders who are eager to learn.
My Project
Because there are so many students in my classroom, that means our room is huge. It is not easy for all students to actually see what I am holding at the front of the classroom, especially if they sit towards the back of the classroom. A document camera will allow me to be able to display materials where each student can view them. A document camera is connected to the computer screen which projects onto our interactive whiteboard. This will be such an exciting addition to our classroom!
This project will improve my students' abilities to visually understand the material being presented.
This product will also engage the students and keep their focus on the presentation. Not only will a document camera make teaching easier and more fun, it will also make learning easier and more fun.
