My Students

Help make our preschool classroom exciting and stimulating for our special need students! We need new materials that help little hands learn!

My students are special needs students that are ages three to five-years-old.

They attend a three-hour preschool where we work on all aspects of child development. Many of the students that attend our program have special needs such as hearing and vision impairments, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, etc. These disabilities often require additional personnel and materials in order for them to function in a classroom environment.

My Project

I am asking for a wide variety of materials for my special education classroom. We need new craft and painting materials like the paint gloves and finger crayons for those little hands that can't hold regular craft materials. We also need new wooden puzzles. Many of our children don't have puzzles in the home, so we use them to help stimulate their brains and work on motor skills. I am also asking for some language-building storytelling kits. Classic books like "The Rainbow Fish" and "I Know an Old Lady That Swallowed a Fly" are very useful when teaching children language. These kits allow our students to use their tactile senses when reading these books.

The one-year anniversary of the F5 tornado that took out almost one third of our town is here.

Our children and families are still on the mend, recovering as best we can. We want to make sure the preschool children are in an environment that is educational stimulating and exciting to help our children grow.
