Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Practice makes perfect. Students need to practice mathematics in a fun and instructive environment where mistakes are easy to recover from. Whiteboards allow them to do just that while learning in pairs or in small groups.

My students often times can not afford basic school supplies or cannot justify the expense to have more than paper and pencil/pen at school.

This donation will give them the same opportunity as every other student. To work on individual whiteboards, work with neighbors and friends on interesting and difficult Algebra problems as they work to satisfying their High School graduation requirement of passing Algebra.

My Project

I have requested individual dry erase board and pens for my classroom. Pen do not last long when 6 classes of 32 students are using them every day. The whiteboards really get students involved in every problem and allow them to work directly with their neighbor in order to complete the math work.

We use these personal response boards 4 our of 5 days a week and with limited resources given to schools and families on hard times it is important that we keep the opportunities for all students that were in place just a few years ago.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
