For many of my students who are latchkey children of dual working parents, having the ability to purchase all the classroom supplies necessary for school may be an unnecessary hardship.
Gone are the days when teachers were able to supply everything their students would need. With budget cuts, teachers are forced to reach out to parents to help supply the classroom.
My Project
My students need notebooks, folders, and tissues to have a successful school year. Being able to have these supplies for students and not asking them to bring them in is a relief that many parents would appreciate. Asking donors to help students face one less struggle as they attend their last year in junior high school would be a welcomed retreat from the other challenges they face.
As my students enter the new school year, gone will be their worry about how to get all the materials they need.
With a teacher who believes in actively helping them in any way possible, they will be able to focus on their studies and look forward to all their eighth grade year has in store for them.
