Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Seeing is believing! My students are in a situation that they want to use the science lab, but are vertically challenged. These inner city students want to explore science like their older siblings in 7th and 8th grade.

This is a class of very inquisitive students.

They are from a Title I school, which means they are all on free breakfast and lunch. Although we are from one of the richest states in the union, we are from one of the poorest regions in the state. Basics school supplies, such as notebooks and pencils, need to be provided for them since these items are not considered necessities of daily living.

My Project

We are asking for 11 stools for the science lab part of our classroom. We are vertically challenged, as we are fourth graders, and are making due with the classroom provided to us. We really would like to use the lab desks and the stools would allow us access to them in a safe manner.

Our project is so important, because not only will we learn about science, but we will also enhance our reading skills by reading the lab assignment, writing by taking better notes and math by analyzing our findings.
