My Students

My students are incredibly enthusiastic about science. For my kids, science is the entire world around them, and they dearly want to understand it. Yet, our labs are not fully equipped for an inquiry-based science program. Your donation can change that.

My students are, quite simply, the best.

They are engaged, funny, fun, full of life and raring to go. They come from all over to attend our public school, and are proud of their accomplishments and achievements. My students are a delight. Our biggest challenge is in using limited resources to engage and expand their unlimited curiosity.

My Project

The materials in this project will explode our STEM curriculum! This comprehensive lab kit includes materials for 25 different labs for my Earth Science students. TWENTY-FIVE! Students will have hands-on, inquiry-based activities that will help them learn all about rocks, minerals, fossils and Earth processes. Some of the lab topics include: The rock cycle (4 lab activities) Rock and mineral formation (9 lab activities) Mineral colors (3 lab activities) Hunting for fossils (3 lab activities) Earth's processes (5 lab activities) The culminating lab is a geology dig, which I know my students will love.

Previously, my students and I were blessed to have a genetics inquiry investigations project funded through Donors Choose.

I was delighted by my students' responses: They were intensely engaged and learned a great deal quickly. They raced through the activities and challenged themselves like I had never seen before. While the inquiry investigation kits are expensive in terms of dollars, they are an excellent value in terms of enriched learning.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
